biography:
Dr.
Sokol spent two years as Vice-chairman of Czechoslovak Parliament,
and has been a full professor at Charles University, teaching Philosophy
and Anthropology since 1997. In 1998, he was named Minister of Education
and contributed to substantial reforms on Czech Higher Education.
He has been Dean of the newly established Faculty of Humanities of
Charles University since 2000.
